Mammography is an internationally recognized and recommended modality for screening and diagnosis of breast cancer. Mammography is low KV X-ray imaging of breasts that is highly sensitive to detect small breast lesions of even few millimeter and micro calcifications. It can detect lesion two years before it becomes clinically detectable/palpable. All women above 40 years of age should have mammography every year. High risk women with family history of breast cancer or on hormonal therapy should start screening mammography earlier at age of 35 years HR-USG adds to early detection of breast cancer by characterizing the features of lesion detected on mammography and helps to differentiate between solid and cystic or inflammatory or suspicious lesion. Moreover adds in diagnosis by allowing spot interventional procedures of USG guided FNAC and Trucut biopsy. It also gains value in therapeutic services of USG giuded aspiration of simple cyst or abscess
